3 purple eyeshadows

Still battling that nasty cold/ flu  and hoping that cough doesn't turn into a chest infection, as it normally does. Having to take a day off work gave me some daylight opportunities though... silver linings and all that !

Today, I bring you 3 purple eyeshadows. They're all from MAC.
MAC Nocturnelle, Stars'n'rockets and Fig 1

If only I'd been clever enough to swatch them in the right order!
Swatches from left to right: Stars'n'rockets/ Nocturnelle / Fig 1

Stars'n'Rockets is a Veluxe Pearl finish. It is a blue ish purple with some shimmer. It has a duochrome aspect to it and used to be one of my absolute favourites. Loved pairing it with satin taupe. I don't use it as much these days because I'm in a taupe/ brown rut but there is no denying it's beautiful.

Nocturnelle is a Frost finish. I know some people don't find it to be pigmented enough but I've never had issues. It's a great purple, again looks great with Satin Taupe and is very easy to blend.

Fig 1 is a Matte2 finish. If you've never tried the Matte2 shadows, I urge you to do so. They are amazing quality, not chalky in the slightest and such a beautiful beautiful plummy purple. It is quite smilar to Laura Mercier 's Violet Ink in the Artist for Eyes palette.

What's your favourite purple eyeshadow?

  4. Like the look of Fig1 - looks lovely and rich. I have a couple of purple eyeshadows but seem to save them for nights out - which means they hardly get used! Must dig them out and have a look x

  5. Nocturnelle! WOW! Such a shame I can't wear most purple eyeshadows since they almost all contain carmine and I have allergies ):
