Review: Louise Young Essentials Palette

Evening beauty addicts,

Finally the review, after mentioning this palette many times, I've actually sat down to write the review it deserves. It's only taken me 11 months, I'm a fast worker like that!

The palette comprises of 5  matte shades and they are some of the best mattes I've ever used in terms of texture, blendability ( not a real word I know) and pigmentation.

1.Ting is very similar to MAC Brule and makes a beautiful highlight or all over colour to even out your lids.
2. Maowi  is a light taupe- grey. I tend to wear this one all over the lid.
3. Pom Pom is a darker taupe and blends like an absolute dream.
4. Black Bear is a dark flat black perfect for lining the eyes and because it's so easy to blend, you can use it to darken the outer v too.
5. Sislet is a deep rust shade and possibly the most puzzling shade of the palette. I use it the same way I saw Louise Young use it to warm up the crease and it immediately adds depth and 'interest'.
The swatches are in natural light without a primer.

I was lucky enough to watch Louise Young in action at IMATS last year and she is a lovely lady on top of being very beautiful and elegant. She was explaining her demo step by step and it was a pleasure to watch her work.

Have you ever tried the Louise Young palette? Or any of her brilliant brushes?

  12. Yay! You reviewed it! These colors look really lovely, and I like that they are all matte! I'm not sure where I could find this here, though - never seen it! I know Nordstrom carries their brushes, but not their makeup.
