I realise I hadn't done one of these posts in a while despite 'shopping my stash' regularly these days.
I've had this palette for over 2 years and I'd only bought it because it was reduced with another purchase. I honestly can't remember how much it was at the time but it retails for $19.95 on the Coastal Scents website.
The Smokey palette has 36 eyeshadows and there is a mix of shimmer/ satin and matte shadows. Most of the colours are brights. Now they don't particularly scream smokey to me but I suppose the idea is that you layer them with black/ brown shades.

I'll be honest, some of the matte shades are pretty hard to work with, they're very chalky. But there are also some lovely shades there. It's a shame there aren't more neutrals as that would have made the palette more versatile. Value wise, that is 13 eyeshadows I like for $20, still not bad value for money!

I love Coastal Scents hot pots. All the ones I've tried are pretty pigmented! There is a neutral palette like this on Hautelook right now from Crown Brush

I haven't bought any of this palettes for some reason they never appeal to me. Nevertheless the colours are pretty. Have a nice weekend :0)

ReplyDeleteI have one of the bigger palettes form them but hardly use it. I got it when I started getting into makeup and now I just don't use it, except for if I need a crazy ass colour for something more creative. That one reddish shade is pretty!

ReplyDeleteIt is such a shame but I have found these palettes to be a hit or miss, no matter the brand, it's weird! There are some true gems though, most of your swatches look super creamy and pigmented x
ReplyDeleteI have two 88 eyeshadow palettes, but I never use them. Some shades are surprisingly very pigmented, while others are very 'blah'.
