5 minute reviews- Day 26 Make up For Ever Aqua Black

I hope you've had a great Christmas day and that your jeans are tighter from yummy food yesterday.
Has anyone else fallen a little bit out of love with gel liner or is it just me? I used to wear it every day and now I'm all about smudged pencil!
Which brings us to this: Make up For Ever Aqua Black, not strictly a gel liner but a Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow.

It comes in a regular little pot and has an interior lid to keep it from drying out, MAC Paintpots take note!
You can see how pigmented it is, it is super black and very creamy and VERY waterproof.

I've only ever used Aqua Black  as a base for a smokey eye once and vowed that I would not do that again. You have about 2.5 seconds before it dries and sets waterproof. Once it dries, there is no budging, smudging, blending happening! Which makes it quite tricky when you want to smudge it and apply shadows on top that you want to blend.

As a liner it is very good, there is no doubt about it. Although obviously corrections if you've got your line wrong are a bit tricky. My favourite way to use this is to tightline. It is the only EVER product that has not left my waterline after an hour. Once it dries on there, that's it.

All in all a good product, as most Make up For Ever products are. Saying that, I remember paying just under 25 euros for this and I have to say this is extortionate for such a small product.

Have anyone used this and found a way to make it work as a base? whar's your go to gel liner?

  1. I really want to try more from Make up forever, I have only ever tried their mascara. This looks so pigmented, I bet the other colours in this are amazing as well. x

  2. Wow that is black hey? :P
I've only played with this and it scared me haha. But I like the idea of it on the waterline though.
